Family warns about Ohio dog rescue after puppy dies days after adoption

Multiple families have reached out about sick dogs they adopted from My Young and Old Fur Babies Rescue PITTSBURGH — A father said he bought a boxer puppy from an Ohio rescue as a Christmas present for his 4-year-old daughter, but the dog died after a day from distemper. Jason Lhota, of Penn Township, said he contacted the owner of My Young and Old Fur Babies Rescue, Vicki Groves, for his money back and reimbursement of the money he spent at the vet. Instead, he said he heard from the Monroe County sheriff who contacted him and said the owner is seeking a cease-and-desist order against him. Groves told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 she was threatened by Lhota and contacted a lawyer who in turn told her to call police.
