National Adoption Day to be presented

NORTON, Va. —Frontier Health Post Adoption Services Support Group will present the 3rd Annual National Adoption Day on Nov. 19 at Park Avenue Theatre in Norton, Virginia, from 10 a.m. to noon. This day is offered to those living in Lee, Scott, and Wise Counties and the City of Norton who have adopted, are in the process of adopting a child or are considering adoption. Working with the Virginia Department of Social Services, VALUES helps place children who are permanently and legally separated from birth parents with a new family. This social and legal process gives new parents the same rights and obligations as biological parents. “When you adopt, you expand your family by taking a child into your home as your own family member to care for and nurture him or her into adulthood and beyond,” says Jon Holmes, VALUES Program Manager.
