Greenwich Wells Fargo branch gives Kids in Crisis $10,000

Greenwich’s Kids in Crisis will receive a $10,000 donation due to a recent Wells Fargo community-giving initiative. The contribution is just the latest one for the organization this year, with a number of groups having stepped up in 2016 to help the struggling agency. Kids in Crisis is a Cos Cob-based shelter that provides county-wide advocacy and emergency services for abused or needy children. It provides 24/7 shelter, crisis counseling and community educational programs for children and families. The agency’s funding was slashed in a round of government budget cuts in the last few years, which has resulted in a number of local groups stepping up to help fill in the funding gaps. In January, hundreds of people dove into the chilly Greenwich Point waters to support it. Proceeds from T-shirt sales and donations were given directly to the local organization.
