Kewanee Salvation Army helping area kids have a Merry Christmas

Please install the latest Adobe Flash Player Plugin to watch this content. KEWANEE, Ill. (KWQC) – The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program is underway in communities throughout the Quad Cities area. Director of the Salvation Army in Kewanee, Linda Bolls says they need more gifts this year. “There’s a big need here in Kewanee and we have lots of kids that we want to give a very Merry Christmas to,” Bolls said. She says the Angel Tree project will help make that possible for about 1,000 kids in Kewanee this year. “It’s very heartwarming for them,” she said. “So many of the moms have picked up their gifts and they said, you know, without these gifts, our kids wouldn’t get anything.” She says that wouldn’t happen, though, if it wasn’t for the community’s willingness to help.
