Kids of slain mother surprised with Santa, gifts

Christie Brooks' seven children were surprised by Santa Claus and given gifts collected by her Walmart co-workers. (Dec. 24, 2016) Will Cleveland Buy Photo The living room at 206 Wellington Ave. in Rochester reverberated with squeals of joy. Christmas came early for Christie Brooks' seven children. Brooks, 35, and her daughter, Victoria, 18, were shot and killed inside the home just over a month ago. Her seven remaining children still live there. The investigation remains ongoing. What could've been a trying time for the kids, who range in age from 6 to 16, turned into a joyful occasion Saturday evening. Brooks' children were surprised by a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. The North Pole celebrities brought gifts. Lots of gifts. Three carloads of gifts. The gifts were collected and donated by Christie Brooks' co-workers at the Hudson Avenue Walmart. Brooks worked at the customer service desk at Walmart.
