Longmont's Kids' Holiday Bike Program looks for a boost

( Lewis Geyer / Staff Photographer) The season of giving will soon be upon us, but so far, bicycle donations "are way down this year," for the Kids' Holiday Bike Program, according to Ryan Kragerud, president of Bicycle Longmont. The Longmont nonprofit is appealing for bicycle maintenance volunteers, donations of used kids' bikes, parts and supplies, and cash donations for the 29th annual Kids' Holiday Bike Program, which provides free bikes to kids in need. "Usually by this time we have a half-full trailer of bikes, but things got started a bit later this year. We're just hoping the Longmont community can help us out like they do every year, and we can turn the bikes over to kids who are needy or just want to have a new bike," said...
