Here are a few local experiences to add to your family’s list for 2017: County Park Excursions 1. Turtle watch at Barrier Island Center Put nighttime turtle walks on your summer to-do list. The Barrier Island Center offers guided one-mile sea turtle walks recommended for parents and children age 7 or above. Families can also visit the center during daylight hours to learn from interactive indoor exhibits and an outdoor trail that winds through five Florida habitats. Visit barrierislandcenter.com for more information. 2. Canoe at Turkey Creek Sanctuary Open seven days per week, and always free, this natural trail and wildlife habitat is located in Palm Bay. As part of Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands program, Turkey Creek has a family-friendly 1.85-mile boardwalk.
